    Definately sounded like it was clipping. Maybe it wsa being held too close?

    Sounds good when you turned it sideways. Other than that, it sounds garbled.  I would box it up and have it todays mail to Amazon.

    It doesn’t sound /that/ bad but it definitely sounds like it’s clipping, which is causing the distortion. Though, if you can’t lower the volume then it’s pretty much worthless.
